White Colonel Bramble c.1913. This ball was advertised by its maker, the St. Mungo Manufacturing company, as being “practically indestructible.” This is a little used old repaint that has gutta percha showing underneath. The ball is termed a “six pole” bramble because the bramble pattern cover has six “pole circles” located equidistant across the surface of the ball. The corresponding lines between the poles effectively divide the cover into 8 identical triangles. Only the top and bottom pole circles, however, are marked “White Colonel.”
This Ball is in the accompanying 19-ball group image.
