According to McGimipsey's book, The Story of the Golf Ball, this bramble ball marked "Helsby Maker" on one pole and "National" on the other pole with both poles was made in 1910 by the Telegraph Manufacturing Company.  There is no known ballmaker named Helsby, which was the name of a small town in England. The fact that one pole is marked 'Helsby Maker' does give one pause to at least consider the possibility that Helsby was once home to a small ballmaker.

This rubber core ball does not have any strike marks but there are a couple of small cracks in the cover. Overall, the ball remains very attractive and still presents well.
