As driver and brassie head shapes go, the head on this Jas McDonald brassie is truly distinct!  The crown has been deeply beveled on the back of the head behind both the heel and the toe. This is original to this club. The area directly behind the center of the face is the only area that remains at a normal height and consequently helps the golfer line up to the target.  In addition to creating an alignment aid, the designer of the head likely reduced the size of the crown in order to reduce wind resistance and thereby generate greater clubhead speed.  Back when this club was made, there were no computers on which to do digital modeling.

The head on this unique club has had some work done, and discreetly so.  There is a small patch on each side of the insert, next to the sole, and the face itself has had its loft increased slightly.  There is a repaired crack on the neck that lays flush.  The crack is in some of the images, but its not noticeable. Both the sole and finish have been reworked. A bit of loft has been added to the face.  Overall, the club looks really good and has a highly attractive, natural look.

This 43" brassie has been neatly regripped with an old period leather-wrapped grip. The double insert set up—the white insert inlaid with a black insert—is original.
