This intricately made, dovetailed wood "Golf Ball Renewer" box was originally made to hold golf ball repainting supplies. The box is now empty, but the information still on the front of the box and on the inside lid is great history. On the top of the lid we are told that a repainted ball would be ready for play in just 1 hour!
It was once a common practice for golfers to repaint a worn ball, to give it new life, or at least make it look a little better in the hopes of helping it last longer. Everybody loves to collect antique golf balls in the box, but its harder to find the paint, and harder still to find the box the paint came in.
