Among the most popular golf collectibles is the giant niblick. Even non-golfers view it in amazement as its size is so eye-catching. Giant niblicks were produced primarily during the 1920s. This example was made by Cochrane, and has Cochrane's Bowline knot cleekmark on the back of the head which is also stamped "Mammoth Niblick, Made in Scotland, Warranted Hand Forged, Fort Mason Picadilly London".
The face depth measures 3 3/8 inches at its deepest point. The shaft and grip are original and the head shows little use. Stainless heads, like this one has, age extremely well. TCA2 Vol 2, p 592-593
