This North British Rubber Company Scottie Dog advertising figure is marked, in raised letters, "The Choice of Champions" across its front and "North British SS Twin Dot" on its side. It was produced sometime in 1934, when the North British Rubber company introduced their SS—Special Scratch—dimple and lattice golf balls, or within the next few years thereafter while the ball remained in production.

This is the rarest Scottie Dog that the auctioneer knows of.  It does not have a covered wooden base like all the other examples I have encountered.  Instead the base is ceramic, just like the dog, and it is integral with the dog. Even better, this item from top to bottom is rich in color and luster, and is about as close to perfect original condition as one could hope for.  The only flaws to speak of are on the base, a few small chips on the back and one on the right side.  In the auctioneer's experience, this item is truly as good as it gets when it comes to Scottie dogs—the rarest and finest.
