With a well-dished face and corresponding round back, this club has great character. It is also in great condition, including its original shaft and grip.

According to Jim Coopers' Book "Early United States Golf Clubs by A.G. Spalding & Bros, Wright & Ditson, and Bridgeport Gun Implement Company," Clan-marked clubs were made by Spalding around 1897 and today the Clan mark is among the "toughest of Spalding marks to come by." Page 43 of his book includes an image of the same club that is offered here only marked Wright & Ditson with a mark in use betwen 1898-1903.
