This Silver Town Remade ball in this lot was produced by the Silvertown Co. at some point in the 1890s. It is marked "Silver Town: and "Re made". Back in the 1890s, remade balls were produced by melting down used gutty balls and then remolding them into new balls, which is how this remade ball was made.
The other c. 1890s gutta percha ball in this lot does not have a name. Both balls are similar in appearance . Both have been used—The unnamed ball has a fair number of strike marks, one going deep into the ball, but the Silvertown remade has just a few light strike marks. Both balls match up well and make a great pair!
