In 1910, the R&A declared Croquet-Style putters non-conforming but the USGA did not.  Consequently wood-shafted croquet putters continued in use from 1910 through the end of the wood-shaft era, but few golfer in America used them after the R&A gave their thumbs down.

This early 20th century croquet-style putter has two lead weights on its sole. One under the heal and the other under the toe.  The club was originally made without a grip.  This is clearly evident, as the top of the shaft where the grip would have been is finished exactly the same as the lower part of the shaft, and there is not a single hole in the upper portion of the shaft where two nails were always used to attach the top and bottom of the grip to the shaft. There is a small, inconsequential crack on the hosel just below the whipping. It runs across the hosel, not down into the head, and is noticed only if looking for it. Overall, this is a very attractive club.
