Made by Tom Stewart of St. Andrews and bearing his pipe cleekmark, this stainless putter was modeled after Bobby Jones' Calamity Jane putter and bears Jones' initials "RTJ". Stewart made the irons Jones used during his career and briefly sought to cash in on Jones' success by making copies of Jones' clubs and marking them with Bobby's initials. After Jones found out about it and spoke to Stewart, Stewart stopped making his copies. See TCA2 V 1 p142-147. Interestingly, Stewart made his CJ copies from stainless steel and included
scoring lines. Apparently he felt those two features were upgrades from the original smooth face
and rustable iron head of the original Calamity Jane.
This putter is in outstanding condition. Everything is original and clean.
