The compact head of this unmarked British-made putter has a unique aluminum frame, the bottom half of which, directly behind the face, is filled with a large piece of lead.  Two screws in the back of the lead, the tips of which are visible on the face, and two screws in the top of the aluminum frame hold the lead in place. To make the two screws in the back of the lead less noticeable, their heads were covered with lead.  The shaft is original and the grip is a modern replacement designed to replicate the look of an old white kid leather grip.

Visible on the sole, the tip of the original shaft has a small nail driven up into it.  This was done to help secure the shaft to the head, although the head is a tiny bit loose.

This is a most interesting center-shafted putter the likes of which the auctioneer has never seen before. Gotta love all the design and engineering that went into this club.
