Written and Signed by Walter Hagen, this is a first edtion copy of The Walter Hagen Story. The book is in outstanding conditon.  This book has had a plastic cover over its dust jacket and that appears to have kept the dust jacket in pristine condition.

Walter Hagen won 45 Tour Titles and 11 majors—2 US Opens, 5 PGA Championships, and 4 British Opens. His 5 Western Open victories were considered "majors" at the time.  Hagen was a larger than life personality, with flair and flamboyance that remains legendary. He was an outstanding club designer who ran his own firm and then later assisted Wilson Sporting Goods with the design of many of clubs. When Hagen died in 1976, Arnold Palmer was one of his pal bearers.

In his book, The Walter Hagen Story, Hagen recounts the two decades when he ruled the golfing world as King. The back of the book shows the table of contents. Many a great stories are told and a wide variety of photos of Hagen in action are included.

The Walter Hagen Story has undergone many editions and reprints.  This particular book is the 1956 first edition published by Simon and Schuster, NY.  Hagen signed inside the front cover, where a loose magazine picture of him also resides. This is a terrific item!
