Crafted by the Bridgeport Gun Implement Company, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, the head and shaft of this brassie are made from a single, solid piece of wood.  There is no neck joint.  The club is in its original finish.   The face insert, brass plate on the sole, lead back weight, are original. The replacment grip looks old and matches up well. The head and shaft are stamped "BGI Co".  The head is also stamped with BGI's rampant lion trademark.  The grain of the wood low on the toe of the face has separated slightly but is still smooth to the face, and the brass plate on the sole shows evidence of use but not abuse. Overall, a very nice example.
