Made by the Sparkbrook Golf Ball Co., Ltd, Highgate Rd, in Birmingham England (and so marked on the top of the box), this Sparkbrook Captive Golf Ball has never been used.  In addition to a ball on a long cord and a long metal rod that sticks in the ground, this device incorporates a sizeable spring.

The mint mesh ball is still in its orange wrapper, and the entire device is in the original box. Art tape has been applied to the inside of the lid, to repair breaks in the seams.  You can see this in an accompanying photo.  The box now presents much better.  The Sparkbrook Golf Ball Company operated briefly during the 1920s.
