These metal tees, in unused condition in their original packaging, were
complimentary at some Shell gas stations. To take up as little space as
possible, the tees are flat prior to using for the first time. To use one of these tees
the golfer would bend the shell-shaped head back 90 degrees to the
stem, stick the stem in the ground, and then place the ball on the
shell. Very neat, except lost tees would reek havoc on the mowers.
These giveaways did not go far. The packaging is marked with a 1932
copyright date.
