This sand tee box was used to hold wet sand. It was placed near the tee, so golfers could use a bit of the sand to load up a sand tee mold. The mold would form a tee of sand on the ground upon which the golfer could place their ball.
An old scorecard from the Woodland Golf Club in Brighton, Michigan was found inside this box. Hole number10 on the card is a 340 yard par 4, the same as is marked on the box.
The box itself measures 8" wide x 4 1/2 deep x 4 1/4" tall. The legs position the box about 4" off the ground.
This sand tee box is in great shape considering its age.
