The shape, size, brass face, sole, backweights, and look of this clubhead are pretty much a match to the pyraline putter heads produced by Kempshall Manufacturing Co. under Willie Dunn's 1903 patent.  This clubhead, however, is made out of wood, not pyralin. Given all the things about this putter that match the Kempshall pyralin putters, It would appear that Kempshall made a few wooden-head examples for resale, at least one of which was retailed by Frank Waugh, whose maker's mark–"Frank M. Waugh, Special" is stamped on this shaft.

Marked with an owner's initial "E" on the top of the head, this beautiful club is even more rare than Kempshall's pyralin model.
