The club offered here is a dish face niblick nearly identical to the club offered as lot 42 in the Spring 2021 auction. The clubhead appears to be the same exact Spalding dish face model except there is no writing on the back of the head. Produced between 1897 and 1900 in Chicopee, Mass., Spalding dish face
niblicks have a concave face, top to bottom and corresponding rounded back. These
clubs were designed to extract a ball from trouble, and this one looks like it could fill the bill quite well.
The original 37 1/4" shaft
has a replacement sueded leather grip that matches the club well. Condition as shown in the images.
