Here we have 8 vintage packages of Plus 20 Golf Tees. None of the packages have been opened, but the tee design is visible in the window in the center of the package. The tees are molded to shape, with a very distinct wedge-shaped base that is thin in one direction and thick when rotated 90 degrees.
According to a Golf Illustrated April 1948 ad for these tees, the front of the tee does not have a lip to hinder the flight of the ball. Therefore by using this tee golfers could add up to 20 yards to their drives! Plus, PLUS the tee is washable! If that sounds too good to be true, see the ad for yourself in the images ;)
The British design registration number "848,655" on the back of the box, which covered these tees, dates to 1940. While might look like old celluloid tape used to hold these boxes together is actually the original material used to create the see-through panel in the front of each box.
