This circa 1885 putter bears the name of the great Tom Morris, and was made in his shop.  The finish is original, the head is solid, and the face is clean. The grip is a replacement sheepskin-style and the 37 1/2" shaft appears to be a replacement, but an old one from back in the day. The shaft has a slight St. Andrews bend, and the head is heavily weighted with a beefy lead backweight.  This combination of a St. Andrews bend on a heavy head made for more  of a pendulum stroke.

Overall this club looks good and is clean and solid.  Tom Morris is well known as the Grand Old Man of Golf. When he died in 1908, he was a living legend. Today, his legacy continues unabated.

This Morris Putter is the 2nd club from the left in the accompanying group image.
