The graduated tiers of linked chains on the surface of this ball was obviously tied to The Link's advertisement as "the non-skid ball." Promoted as made in 1913 The Helsby Co (British Insulated & Helsby Cables, Ltd), said company amalgamated with The Telegraph Manufacturing Company a decade prior.  Advertised as being made from the finest Para rubber, with a "cover unequaled for wear," this Link ball is unpainted and appears to be in unused condition.
