Introduced in 1905 by Hutchison, Main, & Co., Glasgow Scotland, this Springvale Hawk ballis still in its original red paint. Red golf balls were used when frost or light snow was on the ground, or when daisies covered various parts of the course. They are far from common, always attention getters, and add a rich spot of color to any ball collection.
This particular ball shows light use and has a small, shallow chip in the cover at one pole. The original paint on this ball still looks great, with much of its original luster. Overall, this is an outstanding ball.
This Ball is in the accompanying 19-ball group image.
