Marked on its crown "Shoebury Patent 1911 Rd.14922" along with "Willie Wallis".  The club was covered under a patent issued to Major Arthur Escourt Harrison.  According to his patent, the soleplate of a golf club would project slightly ahead of the plane of the striking face. To accomplish this, the base of the insert is thicker and also projects forward beyond the plane of the face.  The projecting portion of the bottom of the club was designed to help the golfer get under the ball with greater ease, at least in theory. Another rare club with a distinct design.

This 41-inch brassie has its original shaft and sueded leather wrapped grip appears original.
