The shaft in this Slazenger Screw Driver is threaded and screws into the head, which is also threaded to received the shaft. Glue was also used to help solidify what was sold as an exceedingly durable neck joint. The US patent number "682,960" issued to Frank Slazenger for this club in September of 1901 is stamped on the crown, as is "Slazenger"
The 44-inch-long shaft is stamped Slazenger and still has its original leather wrapped grip. This is an outstanding club that is rarely seen with its shaft separated from the head. The club shows next to no use.
