This ball is in poor condition. It would not be worth offering except it is clearly a circa 1870 gutty ball hand cut with Robert Forgan’s hand-hammered pattern on its surface – a least on what remains of the surface. Despite its poor condition, this ball still has great history, is easily identifiable, and provides an inexpensive way to collect what would otherwise be an expensive ball. Besides, its wear and fossilized look says “OLD!” in a major way.
