Only two Wood-Milne Ltd. Rubber Core balls with bramble covers are recorded in McGimpsey’s Book, the Story of the Golf Ball. One is the Wood Milne Doom and the other is the Wood Milne Heavy (Green Dot). This ball is neither of those balls. Constructed with a bramble cover pattern, this ball is likely one of the first rubber-core balls made by Wood-Milne, Ltd. Their lone recorded Gutty ball was marked with the same name as this ball—“Wood Milne”—and nothing else.
Two light strike marks. A wonderful ball in all respects.
