The sole of this handsome club is marked "Winter-Dobson, Dallas, Texas, Hand Made, Model AC". This Schenectady-style putter has a full fiber face plate that is original to the club. This putter was likely made by MacGregor for Winter-Dobson, as it is a copy of MacGregor's Cimetric putter offered in 1910 and on into the early 1920s. Most Cimetric putters were made with a brass face and without a brass sole. Relatively few have the full fiber face like this club. The full brass soleplate on this club, which the auctioneer has not seen on a Cimetric, and the full fiber face are what make this Winter-Dobson such a nice club.
The shaft and grip are original. The original finish has been reworked but in period style. The club shows little use. The lettering on the sole is strong and the plate is clean, no dents or wear.
