This lot consists of two "The Perfect Tee" sand tee molds: one genuine early 20th Century and one modern reproduction. Sand tee molds used during the wood shaft era are, today, inherently rare. Consequently, Replica's are being reproduced—and they are popular (they often sell for upwards of $75 or more) because the genuine articles are so hard to come by.
Given a close inspection when comparing the two tee molds shown here, there are clear differences between the old and the new. These differences go beyond the fact that in these images the replica looks looks bright and shiny.
The original Perfect Tee offered here was made early in the 20th century. It is marked as made in Albert Lee, Minn., and is in perfect condition.
