First (small paper) edition 1896 "The Golf Book of East Lothian" by John Kerr. Signed by John Kerr on the limitation page, hand-numbered "236" of 500 copies. It also contains an inscription dated 1897 on the half-title page. The half-title page has the limitation page on its back side. This page is torn right along the spine, but remains attatched near the top.

The front and back covers show wear and some discoloration. Only the top of the half-title page is still attached. The accompanying photos detail the condition of the book.  The binding itself is solid.

There are many photos to show the condition and to sample the contents of this book.  The Golf Book of East Lothian is a cornerstone to a golf history library. It has extensive information about East Lothian's golfers, equipment, courses, and clubs, etc. throughout the book.

The Rev. John Kerr was a supreme historian and his book will ever be desirable. A look through the accompany images will show the chapter titles and list of illustrations in the book. These front pages of the book will provide a glimpse of the great historical information that can be found throughout.  This book is of great value to collectors as well as historians and golfers in general.
