Made by Robert Simpson and produced early in the 20th century, this Simpson Special putter has a rectangular gutta percha insert in the center of the face and a brass soleplate that extend up onto the face where it borders the gutta percha insert at the heel and toe. The insert and soleplate served to make this club exceptionally durable.
The grip is original as is the shaft, which is stamped "Simpson, Carnoustie." The original finish shows wear, but the club still looks good.
