With a face that measures an intimidating 2 1/8 inches in depth, this jumbo driver is not messing around! It has a deep face and only a minimal amount of loft. Talk about a strong club!

The behemouth has its original 43” shaft shaft and leather-wrapped grip.  The head still retains its original finish, with the face and the sole keeping its natural color. It has a brass sole plate secured with five screws and the words "Driver" and "Pat'd Apr 24-1923" stamped into it. Also features a small lead backweight.

The patent date on the sole reference the patent issued to George Mattern and assigned to the Crawford, McGregor & Canby Company for a trapezoid-shaped soleplate that is set into the sole. It's quite likely that this MacGregor-made club was not marked because it was not a standard production model included in a catalog.

Remember, anybody who wants to own a giant niblick can own one.  But a jumbo driver? Such monstrosities are extremely hard to track down. This is a great rarity—and in outstanding condition!

The ball shown in the pictures for perspective is not included with this lot.
