This Alex Patrick Special socket brassie with full-brass face was made by
Alex Patrick, a prominent and well-respected Scottish clubmaker born in
1849. Patrick plied his trade during much of the gutty-ball era, having
learned the
business at the foot of his father, and well into the rubber-core era. The full brass face plate that Patrick installed on this club is a genuine rarity and an exceptionally nice feature.
Original shaft is 42 3/16". Original sheepskin grip. Marked "A Patrick Special" on the head. Brass soleplate with 6 screws; brass face plate with four screws.
