Stamped "D. McEwan, Musselburgh," on the back of the blade, this lofter bears the rose cleekmark of Robert Condie who forged this wrought iron clubhead so Douglas McEwan could shaft it and sell it in his shop. McEwan was from a long line of longnose clubmakers who worked in Musselburgh, and he did not forge irons.
Original hickory shaft and sheepskin grip in beautiful condition. Shaft measures almost 37" long and is stamped "McEwan Special." A very nice club.
