Held in Deal, NJ, the 1929 Intercollegiate Golf Championship was won by Princeton with Tom Aycock as the medalist. Medals made from bronze, like this one, were usually awarded for a third place finish. The back is stamped 'ICAA" and does have significant pitting. Upon close inspection, the names of the original Big 10 conference universities can be seen on the back perimeter of the medal.   The Greek sculpturesque man embossed on the front of the medal sets the bar high for all golfers, with his shirtless pose and chiseled abs at the end of his swing (similar to how, according to memory, the auctioneer also looked back in his college glory days). ;)

The medal comes in a case, although not original to the coin. The auctioneer believes the "RVT" or "RMT" found on the front bottom left of the medal belong to the sculptor who created the medal.
