The top of the the clubhead is stamped "Wilson Wm. V. Hoare Model" and was featured in the 1931 Spalding Catalog. The description read, "The W. V. Hoare putter has n uncanny accuracy and that feel that gives confidence. It is perfectly balanced and is made with ebony finished persimmon head, aluminum face, and metal sole plate. Shafts are of sheath covered seamless drawn steel or finest hickory equipped with black Wilson grips."
The example offered here features a 34" hickory shaft with black leather grip. The head has received a coat of varnish in recent years.
