By the many straight, square lines on this clubhead, one might be inclined to think that it was initially cut, but never finished! I mean, who wants to use a rectangular wood block for a putter head?  But when the bottom is examined, it reveals a perfectly cut brass piece that is recessed to sit flush to the three edges. It was designed and advertised with the idea that "Looking down on this putter, you see only straight lines. This enables you to instantly get the corrected line to the cup."

The head measures 1.5" by 1.5" by 4". The is soleplate is stamped "READ WOOD PUTTER / Patent Pending / Glover Specialties Co / Bridgeport, Conn / USA."

Original shaft measures 34" with its original india rubber grip.  The grip is quite crazed.  A narrow  3" long strip of India rubber near the top of the grip is missing. Despite the crazing, the grip appears to be quite solid as it remains today.

The finish on this unique club appears to be in nice original condition.

More information about this putter can be found in TCA2 V2 p538.
