When Burke originally offered this backspin iron in the early 1920s, it was advertised as having a “checkered” face. Today it has been dubbed a waffle face for obvious reasons. This example, bearing Burke's thistle cleekmark, is made out of Monel metal, which has a high nickel content (67%) but does not use any iron. As such the clubs are non-magnetic and never rust.
Original 37 1/4" shaft and leather wrapped grip.
