Manufactured by James B. Halley & Co out of London in 1894,
this Ocobo gutty ball features a molded mesh pattern. Golf Illustrated
wrote of it
in 1901, "Some of the new balls have puzzling names, and a great
diversity of opinion exists as to their proper pronunciation. Thus the
'Ocobo' is pronounced sometimes with all the vowels short, and sometimes
with the second one long. The name is believed to have some occult
reference to Colonel Bogey...."
This beauty is in mint condition, exactly as it was on the day it was sold.
