This c.1880 long nose putter was made by the 4-time British Open champ and Grand Old Man of Golf, Tom Morris.  Morris was already a legend in the world of golf when he died in 1908, and he remains such today. While the club was made towards the end of the long nose era, it is an honest example of Old Toms work.

The 36" shaft and kid leather grip are original, as is the finish on the head. The head itself measures 5" in length, 1 13/16" in width and 1 1/16" in face depth. It retains an attractive long nose shape and the Morris name is still visible. There is a lead button in the sole that gives the head a little more weight.

Much of the black finish has worn of this club, but it still looks quite attractive as there is no damage beyond normal wear.    For more on Tom Morris, see TCA2 volume 1 pages 62-65 & volume 2 pages 564-565

This club is in the accompanying 10-putter group image.
