Bridgeport Gun Implement company made and sold a variety of clubs, but many people don't realize they they sold balls, too. In addition to balls made by other makers, they offered both their own new and remade gutta balls. BGI listed their star-marked balls—their remade gutty ball—in their 1900 to 1904 catalogs. This was when gutta percha balls were on their way out. Consequently BGI saw their sales dwindle in a hurry, which makes this BGI ball quite scarce. This example has notable crazing and paint loss, but its solid and a great example if you collect BGI and don't have a better one (which very few collectors have).
