The famed architect Alister MacKenzie in collaboration with Robert Hunter designed the Cypress Point Golf Course, which opened in 1928. Offered here is a blueprint of the golf course and water system plans for the Cypress Point in 1942.
The map measures 60 inches wide by 30 inches tall. "Lee Perry 1942" is printed in the bottom right hand corner in fine print. The map has some minor creasing from when the map was rolled up, and there is the typical yellowing to the paper. Framed up, this would cover a lot of wall!
This map was lightly hand-colored with colored pencils many years ago. The greens are green and the fairways are light green. The hazards are brown and the road is light brown. The coloring was tastefully done, as can be seen.
As shown in these photographs, this map was laid out on a large table and four halves of two dimple ball moulds were used to hold the four corners down. These molds and the table help a person get a sense of the blueprint's exceptionally large size.
