Offered by the Baltimore Putter Company (Baltimore, MD), the Triangular Adjustable Putter has three different faces, each with a different loft. The straight, medium, and acute loft sides all have unique scoring to their face and allow the player multiple options on the green--a response to the fact that there are multiple clubs that can be used on the fairway!
Not only are the loft faces adjustable, but the shaft can be adjusted for left or right-handed use. By holding the shaft in one hand and pulling the head straight down, directly away from the circular end of the hosel, the golfer is able to loosen the head which is held in place by a spring mechanism inside the head. After the head is rotated to the desired location, the spring pulls the head back into a locked position.
This all original club remains in attractive, working condition. The head rotates and can be adjusted to its six different positions (3 right- and 3 left-handed). The triangle head measures 3 2/16" along each edge. The 34" shaft is original, as well as the leather wrapped grip. Note that on this club a set screw was never installed in the back of the hosel. The hosel looks untouched and is neatly pinned all the way through, but there is a slight amount of play between the head and shaft.
In spite of all of its adjustable features, this putter was ultimately found to be ineffective. Baltimore putters today are few and very far between. Ah, the stuff of a great collectible!
