John Gouick from Dundee, Scotland received a 1904 British patent that covered this club. The thick, rounjded sole transitions up across the back of the blade to a thin top line. Gouick wanted the weight low in his center-shafted putter to help facilitate a true pendulum stroke. The grip is old and looks natural/great on this club, but it's not the original grip, as witnessed by a nail hole in the wood just below the bottom of the existing grip. It is important to note that on such a rare club as the Gouick putter, the original grip is not the key feature. The head is, and the head is in wonderful original condition.
