The golfer on this vintage inkwell is Harry Vardon, modeled exactly after Hal Ludlow's famous bronze of Vardon produced by Elkington & Co. in the early 1900s. The bottom of the base is marked "1864", so it is not known if Elkington made this inkwell, but that certainly looks to be the case. The Vardon figure on this inkwell, in all its details, matches with great exactness that of Ludlow's bronze statues. A very cool item.
