Mills c. 1910 Hilton X Model Putter made by the Standard Golf Company. According to the Standard Golf Company's 1909 catalog, the Mills X model is "an exact copy of the putter used by Mr. H.H. Hilton at the [British Amateur] Championship, 1901," which he won. Between 1892 and 1913, Hilton won four British Amateurs, two US Amateurs, and two British Opens (as an Amateur).
This nice original aluminum head, long-nose-style putter is in much better than average condition. Aluminum putters are often bag worn as aluminum is easily dented and hosels easily cracked. The hosel is solid and the head still attractive as is the leather wrap grip and reddish-brown shaft. TCA2 V1: 377
