Spalding itroduced their Kro-Flite insert in 1926 and it was used in various insert designs into the 1930s. This set of c. 1930 Spalding woods are beautifully restored with the original stamps on the head still strong and deep. The wood likely had the original varnish go bad, so they appear to be freshened up with new varnish.
The black pyratone-coated steel shafts and leather wrap inserts are original. The sole plate lettering is strong, the wood is clean and tight. A very nice and attractive set.
