Covered under a 1922 US Patent issued to Ralph G. Tyler, this Tyler Putter is marked "R.G.Tyler" on its sole and "Tyler" on the back of the head.

The striking feature of this club is the thick, solid piece of brass that creates both the sole and face, "insuring the firmness of its impact," according to a Tyler ad.  This large piece of brass also distributes much of the weight across the entire bottom, "equalizing momentum."

The original 32 7/8" shaft is actually connected directly to the sole by socketing in place with a screw that extends through the brass soleplate into the tip of the shaft in order to produce "absolute solidarity." The brass is complimented by the rich brown of its persimmon wood head.

This club looks like it was never used. The brass face and sole are about as close to dent/ding free as you will find on a putter of this age. The sueded leather grip is a replacement that matches up well with the club.
