This official 1999 Ryder Cup money clip is much different from the 1999 souvenir Ryder Cup money clips that were sold. Because the official clips were given to event players and dignitaries, few were produced.

The 33rd Ryder Cup was held September 24-26, 1999 at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. Also known as "The Battle of Brookline," this tournament has gone down in history for several notable reasons, including the controversial fan and player sportsmanship and the massive come-from-behind rally that saw the US Team clinch the championship.  It also proved to be one of Payne Stewart's last public appearances before his tragic death several weeks later.
