This amazing 1898 Varsity gutty ball has a unique 6 pole pattern, and was made by Anderson, Anderson & Anderson located in London. Anderson produced the Varsity two ways, either from white gutta percha or black gutta percha. The black version, which is offered here, was advertised as being "the Best Black ball ever produced."
This ball remains in outstanding condition. The names are strong as are all the pole patterns, with just a few light strike marks. An example of this ball is in the Harry B Wood Collection—#66
