Bramble balls were made as both solid gutty and early rubber core balls.  This mould has the 6 pole pattern, but no name. Because there is no name in this mold, the auctioneer believes it dates to the gutty ball era, plus the mold is exceedingly heavy and unrefined and mostly made of iron.

Note the base of this mold. A screw head plus 4 other screws that appear to have had their heads cut off are visible.  These screws were used to affix the patterned cup that would hold the gutta percha in place.   The top of the mold still has its original paint so you cannot see the base of each threaded.

Both halves of the moid are matching and, as mentioned, still in their original paint. There is also a ball press offered in this auction.  It is not included with this item but would well with it, as shown in lot zzz.
